Zepherus

The one Blyss litter of December 2008 produced three puppies: MagnusTresor, and Zepherus
Bob and I loved these baby borzoi and wanted to keep all three, but the litter belonged to the owner of the stud dog, Karen Staudt-Cartabona of Majenkir Borzoi. Karen kindly and generously selected a puppy for us who would become our beloved Tresor. The puppy that was most outstanding, Magnus, would be hers, and she sold the third puppy to an elderly couple in California. The husband died about a year later and his wife moved in with her daughter. I had received a Christmas card from them with a gorgeous photo of Zephyrus lying on an Oriental rug. I saved the photo and it is framed and on display in my home. However, I never heard from them again.

A few days ago, this same photo was posted in the Borzoi History Group in Facebook by the couple’s daughter. I was stunned to see it! I sent the woman a Friend request and two messages in Messenger. Sadly, I have not heard back from her. But she wrote lovingly of her dog that they had named Tsar and he was dearly loved! That answers many questions of what I wanted to know, and identifies the place where he lived and the family who loved them. Just another reason why Facebook is so great. Facebook found Zephyrus!
